The advantages of the DÜSTEC® system at a glance

The DÜSTEC® system ensures maximum processing quality, as precision coordination of the machine, jet technology and bonding side of the edge is achieved from a process engineering point of view.

Practicability / Investment protection / Future safeguarding

  • Practicability / Investment protection / Future safeguarding
  • All conventional edging materials are processed. There are no limitations – neither with regard to colour nor material. The DÜSTEC® polymer layer can be applied to all edges in the production process.
  • Edges with the DÜSTEC® polymer layer are available on the market (see Partners).
  • Existing edging material and old stocks can be recoated with the DÜSTEC® polymer layer for the plasma technology (see Partners).
  • Retrofitting of the DÜSTEC® system on existing machines is possible in the majority of cases (see Partners).
  • New machines are available on the market (see Partners).
  • Customised plants can be planned and delivered (see Partners).

Quality

  • Quality parameters for edge banding (bond, thermal stability, damp, climate, ageing) are tested by independent institutes and certified as very good (see LGA certificate).
  • A veritable "zero-joint" is achieved here, as the edge and "adhesive" form a material bond and no joint "seam" is created as a result of bonding.
  • The milled plate edge is not subjected to stress, as no adhesive needs to be applied to it using a roller.
  • Post processing is extremely minimal, as the surface is no longer soiled with separating agent and adhesive residue.
  • Production losses due to adhering errors are low,  as the DÜSTEC® system is subjected to uninterrupted monitoring.

Costs

  • Energy: energy consumption for an edging width of 23 mm (19 mm plate) and approx. 20 m/min feed is around 7 kwh. Approx. 8 kwh are saved in comparison with the conventional gluing technique consisting of a glue pot and premelter. Heating is not necessary. Energy consumption only occurs at the moment the edge adheres to the plate.
  • Maintenance: plasma technology is well engineered, and the DÜSTEC® jet is a tried and tested element. Both technologies are robust and require low maintenance, even where high operational performances and durations are involved.

A cost comparison indicates that the DÜSTEC® system embodies clear advantages when compared with conventional edge banding using a premelter, advantages that are evident in the

  • quality
  • investment costs
  • energy consumption
  • maintenance costs
  • product safety
  • productivity
